NGL appeared as a very important opportunity in my life and over the years it has helped me in many ways to develop leadership skills with a human vision to continue working on projects focused on people and integral well-being. When I saw the call for applications I knew that the program was perfect for me, not only because of the community work I have done for some years, on issues related to education, culture and entrepreneurship with indigenous communities in southern Mexico, but because it sounded like a very enriching experience in which I would learn from my colleagues and the activities we would share. After several years of being part of this program, I feel grateful for having the opportunity to collaborate, share and be part of this family of inspiring young people who work day by day for a more prosperous, inclusive and fair future for all. I have never been so excited to have a zoom call as I am every time we can share a moment of learning, ideas and creation like the NGL sessions.
I am excited to be part of a global movement that is transforming realities. And it motivates me to continue working to be an agent of local and global change. Despite adversities such as the pandemic, conflicts in our countries or personal problems, we can always trust that we have a very valuable support network, which drives us to overcome challenges and think of solutions, ideas and proposals to improve our realities.
NGL has been many times the light that reminds me of my potential, my life mission and that helps me show resilience in moments when I have felt lost on my way. When I graduated from university, I made a very important decision, to start building a career in social impact and entrepreneurship, in addition to having a degree in engineering, because my passion is to generate and inspire social change, and to look for disruptive and innovative ways of doing things. And in this process I have felt accompanied, listened to and supported. NGL was a fundamental part of building a new mentality in which I put my soft skills and engineering techniques at the service of social action, collective well-being and entrepreneurship.
Thanks to this community, I now have deep-rooted concepts such as collective intelligence, working towards a shared dream in which we challenge conventional norms and question assumptions.
My favorite memory so far from being part of this program is our meeting in Boston, where we were able to be together in person, connect and share pleasant moments for a whole week. It was a transformative space in which we brought together our talents and experiences to visualize the future of NGL, our dreams and ambitions. They were days of genuine curiosity, exploration, innovation and empathy. I loved listening to the life stories of my fellows, connecting with nature and a little more with myself.
Currently, I lead a social enterprise focused on rescuing the culture and ancestral knowledge of indigenous communities in southern Mexico. At the same time, I coordinate a program for the digitalization of small and medium-sized businesses. I also volunteer at Hult Prize, one of the largest entrepreneurship competitions in the world, where I am the national coordinator, working to inspire changemakers who propose innovative solutions to the challenges facing Mexico and the world. NGL is a fundamental part of my life, and of my transformation and personal growth in recent years. I am very grateful and curious to see everything that is to come.
