
Dr. Vuthlarhi Shirindza is a South African medical doctor with an MBChB (cum laude) and BMedSci(Hons)(cum laude) from the University of Cape Town (UCT). She is the Virtual Engagement Specialist of the For Youth, By Youth Movement and a Next Generation Leader alumna. Her leadership experience includes roles in the Rural Doctor’s Association of South Africa, TEDxUCT, UCT’s Health Sciences Students Council, and Rural Support Network. She co-founded Chewi, one of Africa’s first pet telehealth start-ups. As a UCT Global Surgery Research Fellow, Vuthlarhi conducts research to improve surgical access and equity in low- and middle income countries, particularly in Africa. She delivered a TEDx talk on how universities can equip youth for true success through curriculum reform. Her passions also include entrepreneurship, writing, and dance.
